Navigating AuDHD business ownership

Notes whilhe watching an Intentional Oversharing podcast episode

location Raleigh,  NC,  US

Primary source of income through 1:1 coaching.
New to business ownership, marketing, etc.
Figuring things out how I go along.

I need to be doing stuff myself, learning as I go, essentially. I need to try things, see what work or doesn't work.

Only say yes to things if I actually want to do it and enjoy doing it.

(Reminds me of Renee Brooks' "Protect your yes.")

Feel the yes or no in your body. There's a lot of opportunity for RSD to happen as a business owner, also when you're talking to others within your industry. I can't compromise myself or my business for the sake of sparing someone else's feelings.

If the vibe doesn't fit, that's a no. If I feel within my body the answer's no, I'm getting better at reading that in myself. I'm getting better at recognizing that.

Decision Making Strategy

If someone comes to me and wants to collaborate, and if it feels like a no, I'm going to go with that.

It's either a hell yes or a hell no for me.
Reminds me of the Amount of Fucks scale. And another (I forget what)

Trying to stay true to self.
Not doing something once or twice but continue to do over time. Becuase otherwise, I'm wasting myself and everyone else's time. Unless you have a Master's in Business, you're not going to automatically know what you're doing. Be kind to yourself as you figure it out, give yourself grace, as you figure out how you want to turn your business.

Free stuff

The stuff I do and offer for free, the events; book club, body doubling, all that stuff; I do it because it's serving me in some way, fosters community, getting my name out there, and it's stuff I find fulfilling. If I do something and I don't find it fulfilling, I'll stop doing it. Even if everyone loved it, I won't continue doing something, if it doesn't feel good for me.

Setting things up in a way that feels realistic and sustainable over time. I just let people find me.
