Last year, I read my way through Scott McCloud's trilogy for the first time, in it's holisticity.
This year, I read the other book.
I've loved illumination for decades, now. Ever since discovering the concept in University's History of Art & Graphic Design courses. Following it through Book of Kells movie—an open-sourced animation via the Internet;—etc.
In that same vein, i was introduced to McCloud in my University time, as part of my studies in Imagery and Typography, and the practical Studio class (filling 1/3 of full course load at 18-hrs/week in-class instruction time).
It just dawned on me, a thoroughly through-thread of my career and putting a name to what I'm interested in vs. where my technical skills lay using a shared definition with distinct delineation.
