I'm reading Company as Commons¸ and found an interesting way to call out and reference one's own articles on their website.

I like the card, and how it could work as a pattern myself. However, it does feel a lot like an advertisement. To the point that I skipped over it until realizing, in the next paragraph, as it starts "I ended the post..."
Then I realized it was a link to a previous article.
I like the size, form, and impact of the reference. Feels like something that I could replicate. It's a nice pattern though.
Reading further, it's not just a reference to another article they wrote, but a reference to any webpage that's significantly impactful on the storytelling and context -linking & -building.
