My digital garden's name is The Wandering Colophon.
Life's Work
I look and approach my professional practice in the frame of "my life's work." There may be projects that I worked on 15 years ago that're still alive on the internet and I'm still proud of. I created it at a different era of growth, while I was becoming me.
I want this site to be an archive of my /work
. The colophon of my professional life; creations.
Call it evidence, proof of work, or just trying to take up space in the world. Legacy. Imperative. Long-view. Sustainability of practice. What have you. There's plenty of ways to name it.
But, that's part of this purpose. Naming my /repo
Colophon. And now, my newsletter.
A definitive, weekly newsletter practice to build on.
Wandering
Exploration.
Chaos.
Intentional meandering.
Experimentatoin.
Curiosity.
Adventure.
Change.
Learning.
Difference.
Luck.
Colophon.
The oppposite of exploration
The order of things.
Citing tools used, methods applied, where it was made, and by who.
Design oriented.
Garden Paths
I'll create a /paths
page that's a set of curated "webring style" reading paths. This would be a "start with about me and go through from there". Playlists. But, like a garden, these are intentional: to evoke something specific or tell a different story...or just to explore.
They're curated wanderings. For you.
Seasons of Newsletters
I'll create a /newsletter
page and it has all my newsletters I've sent, since Inclusive Leader, if I have them, but at least 500 Words, to Characters, to Craft & Practice, to etc.
Have a running number list, of all. So, my first newsletter sent has an original link of /1, then everything else is a /n+1 from there.
Then, as I enter different seasons, I'm free to rename, while still keep track and long work of.
