The glue that ties things together.
I don't know the name of the role, or what it is, but I basically see Product oriented roles as "glue work."
Basically, yes: there is the "where are we going" side of product ownership—the vision setting, feature planning—and the whole "are we getting there on time" sorts of things—gathering rituals around progress and process.
But.
There's also the "working to bring everything together" work—the bits that are hard to measure but have compounding impact.
It's felt when it's missing.
The challenge is working with people who have never experienced it, to even notice the gap.
