I recently came across a company called Scribe. They've built a product to "capture and share your team's expertise with smarter documentation." When documenting the find, it prompted some reflection.
My partner and I started Poet & Scribe with the intent of building it up as a consulting agency that supports businesses (focused on scale-ups pursuing investment & growth) in cultivating cultures of learning where documentation is a practice nurtured from the beginning. The business case is solid of the why businesses need it, and all the scale-up related market research showed an understood need of this...but no one would buy it.
I think, one reason, is that we were too boutique.
This company, though, seems to pursue the same sort of goal through a product-company lens, rather than a service-company.
Good to see others understand the value to create a product with extremely aligned intent; still disappointed we couldn't get that version of Poet & Scribe up and running properly.
