We're watching Stargate Atlantis, just finishing S1E15. The commander just spread her own ashes after a little bit of time travel, prescient-lived-experience-future-prep shenanigans.
The associative sparks led me to burial, these days.
There are a few options, but what I'm most interested in is: as a tree.
There're services that one is buried with the roots of a tree. Then planted.
You give sustenance to the tree, and support it's growth.
In these carbon-conscious, tree-scarce times, I think fondly about literal ancestral forests.
Acres of expanse, generationally giving sustenance & oxygen to our planet's inhabitants.
Instead of tombstones: trees.
Tombtrees.
Though I like ancestral tree & forest.
There was a thing in a country where they have trees email addresses. People could email trees.
And you know what? They did.
Humans around the world wrote to these trees.
